Have you ever stopped to think about the three magi in Matthew and the star they allegedly followed to Jerusalem?
Here's a puzzle for you. If the magi in the Gospel of Matthew came to Jerusalem from the east and they saw the star in the east, wouldn't they have traveled away from Jerusalem rather than towards it?
Matthew 2:1-2
If your theology allows for the Bible to have errors in it, this doesn't really matter. But if you believe the Bible has no errors, this is a problem. The apologists will supply you with post hoc explanations and rationalizations, but do they ring true, or do they sound more like attempts to fit square pegs into round holes?
Just food for thought.
Thanks as always,
Gavagai
